what was consumed:
blueberry pickled pepper corn bread, sweet corn potato pierogies, grilled yellowfin tuna, woodfire glazed lamb ribs
i'm not sure how many people told me to check out girl & the goat while in chicago. they all also warned me that i would probably not be able to get a seat if i didn't make reservations well in advance (which i didn't), but also advised to try bar seating (which i did, and which was successful). i'm glad i took everyone's suggestions becasue gitl & the goat was GREAT.
we arrived at girl & the goat at a time (though soon after they opened) where we were unlikely to get a seat, bar seating included. we were right, but we stuck around and eyed a couple of folks getting ready to leave and were able to snag some seats at the bar. yay! seemed like that was part for the course, though, as there were quite a few people who did the same, as we did, after us.
per the recommendation of our well-versed server/bartender, we ordered a series of items. she took care of making sure they came out in the order they were supposed to and each and every one was super delish. BJL and i shared all of the dishes (as is our way), and i definitely could have gone for one or even two more dishes (but i remind you: i have a gigantic appetite). and if i were to have any one of them again, it would be ... the corn bread. i love corn bread. but the girl & the goat's was just ... perfect. and the accompanying butter put be over the edge. but say you want something, anything, else? girl & the goat does not disappoint! so so delicious. can't wait to go again!
